The combatants are exulting in a massacre that relief organizations believe claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people in the Sudan's urban center of the Darfur city last month.

A Community Severed from the Outside

Having held the city under encirclement for almost an extended period, from late summer the paramilitary force proceeded to strengthen its position and blockade the leftover inhabitants.
