Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
